All Day Crop

Today was the all day crop at Scrapbook Centrale. I love these all-day crops! I don't really get a lot done, I have to admit, but I sure do enjoy the company. I got to spend the day/evening with some great scrappy friends, and I got to meet some new people, too.

Also, this was my first chance to play with my first DT kits from The Paper Element, so that was exciting in and off itself. I just want to say how much I LOVE the quality of these papers! They are a nice cardstock weight, with a slight texture, and they are double sided. One of the nice little details is that they list the coordinating shades of Bazzill on the cut-off strip. How cool is that?!

The page above features papers and a cardstock sticker from The Paper Element's "Glory" collection. The page below features papers, rub-ons, and a cardstock sticker from the "Sugar" collection.

Crop Night

Friday nights are usually crop nights for me. I go to the crop at the LSS every chance I get. Now, don't misunderstand me - I don't actually get a lot accomplished, ha ha ha!! It's more for the comraderie, and I love that.

Tonight we had perfect evening weather. Not too hot, not too cool. Just right. Even though (after the crop) we got to the coffee shop just about closing time, we were still able to order our drinks and then sit out on the terrace. A great finish to the evening. (Thanks Erin & Claude!)

AC back on at the office

One Good Thing that happened today is that the air conditioning is finally working properly in my office building. Oh my - you have no idea how happy that makes me.

Another Good Thing today is that the humidity has broken. The big storm yesterday had a big part in this, and I consider it a gift after the humidity of the past few days. I know it will be easier to breath today, and easier to sleep tonight.

Big Storm

Today there was a severe low pressure weather system in the Montreal area. There were reports of funnel clouds, very high winds, and lots & lots of rain. More than one large transport truck was blown over on it’s side on the Champlain bridge (a major bridge in the Montreal area). The south shore was hit hardest, with a lot of damage from blown down trees. There were also a lot of people out of power.

Even with all of this wild weather, no one was seriously injured. And for this I am grateful. There easily could have been many tragedies.

I am also grateful that the area in which we live did not experience the full brunt of this storm. We have many old trees on our property, and any number of them could have been blown down onto our house (it’s happened before). I feel lucky that we had no such damage this time.

No AC at Work *sob*

The humidity from the weekend has not let up, it’s still hot and humid in Montreal, and I’m having a hard time breathing. I thought that I would be fine at the office.

Not so - the air conditioning isn’t working in our building. I thought I was going to melt into a puddle under my desk.

One Good Thing was that someone else gave up their fan for this poor melting preggo. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Air Conditioning

David Suzuki will hate me for this, but I love my air conditioner. There comes a time when you have to make the decision between the environment, and breathing. It’s stinking hot in Montreal today, with wicked humidity levels. Sorry Mr. Suzuki - I choose breathing.

I love my air conditioner. I love that my husband installed it today. I love that it’s finally taking the edge off the humidity in this house, and that by this evening it will be comfortable, and the air will be breathable. I love it, I love it, I love it.

Have I mentioned that I love my air conditioner?

Was she talking about Scrapbookers?

I saw this quote recently on a Starbucks cup. I thought it was very appropriate for many scrapbooking Moms.

Glucose Test Results

One Good Thing today is that I had a great check-up at the doctor. My glucose test was fine! Now I won’t have to fight for my Starbucks! (Because we all know how bad my addiction is, right?!)

Ahhhh - one less worry on my mind.

Great bargains

Today I went shopping at a lovely little shop in Pointe Claire Village. This store carries some of the high-end, fancy baby & children’s clothes, and I normally wouldn’t even step in the door, because of the potential sticker shock. But in their basement they have a consignment shop, with high quality used children’s clothing. I have found some real treasures here for Liam in the past - sometimes the clothes still have the original store tags - they’ve never been worn!. So, I wanted to check out what they had today for little girl clothes.

Jackpot - I found some great items, some which looked like they were almost never worn (you could tell they’d been washed, but there was no wear on them at all). Now granted, my little one won’t be big enough for some of these things for a couple years, but they were completely adorable, and the prices were a steal, so I couldn’t resist.
