Still Loves to Swing - C'est Magnifique Kit Club

Here's my final layout using the October kit from C'est Magnifique kit club. I hope you'll hop on over to their store and check out all the awesome goodies (there's even a sneak of the November kit).

The kit included a multi-layered pearl & lace trim. I tried to use it on all of my layouts, and despite it being very, very pretty, I couldn't make it work. So, I took it apart, and used just the lace. Who said you have to leave supplies 'as-is'?

For this layout I made some additional flowers from the Prima and My Mind's Eye papers. Guaranteed way to give you flowers that match your project...

Speaking of which... I swear, that green flower looks the right colour in person, but I could not get it to photograph correctly! I love these keys from 7 gypsies - something that I could happily include on many, many layouts.

I was tempted to mist this wood laser-cut, but it was so pretty on it's own, I decided not to mess with it. The pearls are from a Viva pearl pen.

Supplies (C'est Magnifique October main kit):
PP - Onirie, My Mind's Eye, Prima Marketing (used for flowers)
letters - American Crafts
wood clock - Kaisercraft
key - 7 gypsies
other - lace trim

Supplies (C'est Magnifique October add-on):
flowers - Petaloo
small letters - Bo Bunny
button - Webster's Pages

Other Supplies:
brads - unknown
pearl pen - Viva Decor
ink - Ranger
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen

Pumpkin Queen - Sketchabilities

This is my take on this week's sketch over at Sketchabilities. Don't for get to hop on over and see what the rest of the team has created!

Here is the sketch, I hope you find a chance to play along - be sure to link up your page to Sketchabilities, we would love to see your take on it.

Lots of paper layers, and a little bit of lace from Love My Tapes.

These brown pearls from Zva were the perfect accent for these papers.

There's just something about this paper line that had me wanting to fussy-cut before I even had it home. (I did resist the urge to trim and drive)

I interspersed the fussy-cuts with die cuts from the collection.

I used some of the word stickers as part of my journaling.

Supplies:
PP, die cuts, letters, sticker words - Authentique
lace - Love My Tapes
pearls - Zva Creative
ink - Ranger
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen

This was on the bottom of my frozen pizza. I guess they wanted to make sure I could tell what the contents were? (Also, to encourage bad spelling)

Kiss Me - C'est Magnifique Kit Club

Back again with another layout featuring the October kit from C'est Magnifique kit club. It's a gorgeous kit - I love the papers.

I started out priming this Dusty Attic chipboard shape with gesso, then I coated it with two shades of glimmer mist (Lucky & English Ivy). The 'pearls' on the butterflies are from a Viva Decor pearl pen.

I had two sheets of this My Mind's Eye paper, so I cut out the shape below and pop-dotted it over top of the first sheet. It became the perfect spot for my title.

There was a multi-toned sheet of Prima paper that I cut apart to make flowers. I love all the shades that were on the one sheet - it gave me a nice variety of flower, all from the one piece. The ivory flowers are pre-made Prima, and I gave them a little glimmer mist in "Dazzling Diamonds".

I used up the last of the Bo Bunny metal trinkets on this layout. The one at the bottom got the addition of a 'pearl' from Viva Decor.

Supplies (C'est Magnifique October main kit):
PP - My Mind's Eye, Onirie, Prima Marketing
letters - American Crafts

Miramichi - Tattered Angels & Love My Tapes

Here's my second project using the Bold Brights Paint System from Tattered Angels. Because this paint system was chosen as part of the Color Connections with Pink Paislee, I wanted to use it with one of the Pink Paislee Mistables papers. I misted the entire sheet with the Meadow Green glimmer mist, then I added the Teal High Heel chalkboard around the edges, allowing the colours to blend before I blotted off the excess.

I used texture medium and a stencil to get these rocks on the page. Once it was dry, I painted them with the Shy Violet glimmer glaze, and immediately misted with water to make it run. It left me with a softer version of the glaze, which was perfect for these photos. I also added some stamping using the Architectural Trims stamp set.

The Love My Tapes lace was painted with Pink Lipstick glimmer glam, and the striped fabric tape was painted with the Shy Violet glimmer glaze. (The teal patterned paper is from the Pink Paislee ‘Soiree’ collection).

I painted these Prima canvas letters with the Pink Lipstick glimmer glam. This photo also demonstrates how much of a difference Chalkboard mist can make on a piece of fabric. The tan Love My Tapes fabric is the original colour and the teal fabric is the same fabric misted with Teal High Heel chalkboard. It was a happy discovery to find the white anchors resisted the mist!

Thanks for visiting!

Easter Ninja - Tattered Angels

This month for Tattered Angels, we were asked to each pick one single paint system to work with, and create several projects using the same colours. I chose the Bold Brights Paint System, and this is the first project I made with it.

I misted this sheet of Canvas Corp handmade paper with Meadow Green glimmer mist and Teal High Heel chalkboard. Then I applied gesso with a stencil, and stamped with the Shy Violet glimmer glaze (stamp is from the Architectural Trims set). The zebra striped Canvas Corp paper was misted with Teal High Heel chalkboard.

Chalkboard mist is perfect on grungeboard – I used Teal High Heel chalkboard on these letters.

The burlap star was misted with the Meadow Green glimmer mist.

I painted Canvas Corp burlap with Pink Lipstick glimmer glam. The Love My Tapes lace was misted with the Meadow Green glimmer mist.

The cute fimo buttons are from Boutique Kimmieprout.

Artists at Work - C'est Magnifique Kit Club

Another layout featuring the October kit from C'est Magnifique Kit Club. If you haven't gone over to see the full kit, you really should - it's beautiful and the Onirie papers are so hard to find in North America - you don't want to miss out.

For this page, I made my own flowers from the My Mind's Eye patterned paper. A couple of punches, some brads and some scrunching, and you can get quite a lot of pretty flowers in a short time.

The greenery was punched from the cardstock add-on. I like the little extra it adds.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

letters - American Crafts

Supplies (from C'est Magnifique October add-on):

3 years old - C'est Magnifique Kit Club

This is my second layout featuring the October kit from C'est Magnifique Kit Club. So many visual textures on the papers - right up my alley! I love all the flower options too.

I pop-dotted the butterfly wings to give them a little more height, and so I could tuck some of the flowers under the edges.

I die-cut a lot of greenery for this, using Tim Holtz dies, and a MS punch. I like the pop from the darker green.

To created the border, I used a border punch on several strips of paper, then pleated them.

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies (from C'est Magnifique October main kit):
PP - Bo Bunny, Onirie
letters - American Crafts
butterflies - K&Company
flowers - Prima Marketing

Just Give Us the Candy, and No One Gets Hurt - Sketchabilities

Oh my word - don't they just look like trouble? :) This is my first layout for Sketchabilities challenge blog - I do hope you'll hop on over and see what the rest of the team has created. Such a variety in styles, it's fun to see all the interpretations on the sketch!

Here is the sketch, I hope you find a chance to play along - be sure to link up your page to Sketchabilities, we would love to see your take on it.

I've been itching to use this tree mask for a while, so I took the opportunity, and some glimmer mist and went for it.

Some yummy black bling from Zva Creative. I love that they make bling in colours that work for pages that aren't 'girly-girl'.

I got to dig into some flower colours I don't use very often - black and brown. I love the look for a hallowe'en page!

My title was most of my journaling on this one - pretty much sums it up (of course, I added names and the date to finish giving the context). I like mixing small letters with larger ones - it allows me to use longer titles without taking up half the page.

Supplies:
PP - Kaisercraft
letters - Basic Grey (small), My Mind's Eye (chipboard)
flowers, black ivy - Prima Marketing
crystals - Zva Creative (flourishes), Prima Marketing (branches)
leaves - Viva crafts
brads - My Mind's Eye (large), Queen & Company (tiny)
mask - The Crafters Workshop
glimmer mist - Tattered Angels (Cinder, Haunted Shadows)
pen - Uniball Signo

Mother's Day 2010 - C'est Magnifique Kit Club

Hi Everyone. I'm happy to share with you today my first layout as a Guest Designer for C'est Magnifique Kit Club. I got to design with the October kit, and I wasn't at all disappointed - it features papers from Onirie, a scrap manufacturer from France. I love the papers from this company!

I fussy cut a flourish from one of the papers. The 'pearls' are a from a pearl pen by Viva Decor.

There are lots of great embellishments in this kit. I love these layered flowers from K&Company.

The corrugated cardboard was from my stash. I had a scrap sitting on my work space and it was begging to be added to the layout.

Supplies (C'est Magnifique October add-on):

Lucky - Love My Tapes & LCOM

This is my last page as a member of the sketch team over at Let's Capture These Sketches. They have been a great bunch to work with. If you've ever been tempted to apply for a sketch challenge blog, watch for their next call (should be soon) - and apply!

This layout features lots of great fabric and lace from Love My Tapes. The newsprint canvas is from one of their self-adhesive fabric sheets - so easy to use! (These grungeboard letters were misted with Glimmer Mist - "Partridge in a Pear Tree" and "Forest Green").

I die-cut these gears from one of their faux suede fabric sheets. I just love the texture of these. The self-adhesive sheets work great with my sizzix dies.

No reason why you can't use lace on a 'boy' page (this is the 12mm brown lace tape). Smaller scale and more boyish colours make it work. The checked pattern is one of the fabric tapes. (The stitching was just for looks - the lace and fabric tapes are all self-adhesive).

For this tag I used a bunch of 'leftover' letters. I coated the entire tag with gesso, then gave it a generous dose of Glimmer Mist in "Partridge in a Pear Tree" and "Tattered Leather". It created a grungy look perfect for 'boy pages'.

And of course, the story as to why he was so lucky. I'm sure you can guess what the restaurant was, based on the drink cups. (For the record, mommy despises this 'restaurant').

Supplies (Love My Tapes):
self-adhesive fabric sheet - newsprint (FS007 ), faux suede (FT010 )
fabric tape - Mini-check mix (FT018)
lace tape - 12mm tan (LT0024)

Other Supplies:
PP - Studio Calico
grungeboard letters - Tim Holtz
glimmer mist - Tattered Angels (Tattered Leather, Partridge in a Pear Tree, Forest Green)
gesso - Liquitex
'leftover' letters on tag - Simple Stories
office supply tag - Staples
marker - Faber-Castell PITT pen
